I thoroughly enjoyed reading for this promo for Endemol.
A script such as this, with ‘timecode’ always gets the heart pumping because it requires the voiceover to keep an eye on both their script, which has the text that needs to be recorded, and the different timecodes written down throughout, which indicate very precisely when to begin. Then we have the visuals on screen with a digital timecode clock located at the bottom. Once the film starts playing, the clock starts ticking. All I have to do, is come in ‘on time’ and finish ‘in time’, before the next timecode cue!
Of course, there is always the background music that plays through to my ears via the headphones while recording as well. This definitely has an influence on the tempo and tone of the read, as you can hear in this clip.
